Mohamed Kamara Joined the Environmental Health and Safety Office in January 2022 as Occupational Safety Specialist. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all Facilities Management (FM) employee’s safety training; conducting Lockout Tagout (LOTO) employees proficiency assessment; conducting FM workshops fire and safety inspections, preparing Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) for workshops.

Mohamed came to George Mason University with a broad background in Occupational, Environmental Safety and Health from the Virginia Department of Corrections. Where he served as Occupational and Environmental safety specialist.

Mohamed holds a Master of Science degree in Occupational Environmental Safety and Health from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

His certifications include:

  • OSHA 511 General industry
  • OSHA 501 OSHA authorized outreach trainer
  • OSHA 30 Hour in Construction Certificate.
  • OSHA 10 hour in construction
  • 40 Hour USACE – EM 385-1-1 Construction Safety Hazard Awareness Course for Contractors
